Mina Buker

Mina Büker was born in Istanbul, Turkey in

January 15, 1997. Here, she developed her skills

till 2015. That year Büker moved to the U.S. after

earning a Merit scholarship to receive her BFA at

the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Büker

primarily works in painting, performance and

sculpture. She uses these mediums for their

willingness to be navigated by and capture every

moment of making. By working with repetitive

and meditative movements she focuses on how

everything is interconnected and made by

repetition, but each part is naturally doomed to be

unique because of idiosyncratic moments of their

creation. While she draws inspiration from

biology, psychology and eastern philosophies; she

responds to political, social and mental tensions.

Based in the Chicago for the last two years, Büker

has been progressively involved in performance

art scene in America and Europe while keep

creating new work; Hoping to evoke unity,

sensory awareness and action for a change in
